During this “Lunch and Learn” webinar, attendees will hear from experienced lawyers and a senior claims specialist regarding the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s implementation of the ELD Mandate, the best policies and practices for ensuring that clients collect and preserve relevant and discoverable electronically stored information (“ESI”) in light of the new advancements in technology, and what ESI plaintiffs will be looking to obtain during discovery and how this information can be used to inflate the value of their claims. Attendees will take away practical tips that can be immediately implemented by their motor carrier clients and will be more knowledgeable regarding a plaintiff’s use of ESI and available technology to his/her advantage.

Debbie Milsap is a Senior Claim Litigation Specialist with Claims Services Inc. which is a wholly owned subsidiary of McLane Company and their Third-Party Liability Claims Administrator. Gene F. Zipperle, Jr. began his litigation career in 1988 and has litigated in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Florida and North Carolina. His current practice focuses on transportation litigation, which includes the defense of trucking companies, tractor trailer drivers, and other transportation companies involved in train, watercraft, and aircraft accidents. Gene is a member of the DRI Trucking Law Steering Committee and the Transportation Lawyers Association Executive Committee.
Tyler Pratt practices in the Champaign office of Heyl, Royster, Voelker & Allen, P.C. He regularly handles the litigation defense of catastrophic injuries arising from trucking accidents in all state and federal courts in Illinois. Tyler handles all aspects of litigation, including pre-suit accident investigations immediately after a catastrophic loss to help develop the facts and case strategy that may later be used once litigation is filed. He is also regularly called upon when clients face litigation disputes involving electronically stored information (“ESI”) and regularly writes and presents on the topic of ESI. In 2018, Tyler was named an Illinois Emerging Lawyers, which is only awarded to two percent of Illinois lawyers under the age of 40 or who have been licensed to practice for 10 years or less earn this distinction.
